route: from digital humanities projects into instructional technology, and
from there into systems administration for a university education-services
organization.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;My historical research centers on eighteenth-century chemistry — Joseph
Black&amp;rsquo;s lectures and correspondence, the chemical communities of the Scottish
Enlightenment, and, more recently, how the era&amp;rsquo;s science was entangled with
slavery and empire.&lt;/p&gt;
